I think they comply secretly. They want us to talk “ mighty Apple, they care for our privacy. Will never sell us out”.
mvp My personal thoughts on this are that if a hacker hired by the FBI (as was the case for the San Bernadino shootings) is able to break into an iPhone, then it’s certainly possible, and a vulnerability also - unless there really is a back door, which wouldn’t surprise me also.

It’s a line they and a lot of other vendors are sticking to it seems. For the average “Joe” I fully support this being a privacy advocate, but when it comes to terrorism or other crimes similar, then privacy no longer applies in my view.
Ubuntu is already taking some lessons from Windows. They are auto updating in the name of security.
